Zamfara Governor Tasks Communities To Be Vigilant As Threats Of Jihadi Elements Grow

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Mattawalle has tasked locals to be security conscious and vigilant in the face of growing threats from both religious and non religious terrorism in the state.

The Governor made this known while receiving Sallah homage led by Talata Mafara, Bakura, Maradun and Gusau Emirate Councils on Thursday.

“We need to look inward in our respective communities and be vigilant to tackle the problem of insecurity.

“Informants are not aliens from another planet, they are in our respective communities and they must be fished out to face the wrath of the law.

“When everyone rid his or her mind of hate, envy and political differences and respect one another, the communities will be impenetrable,” Matawalle said.

Ibrahim Bello Zauma, spokesman to Matawalle further stressed the governor’s desire to promote respect for constituted authority and traditional institutions in the state.

This is geared towards resuscitating the glory of the past when the North used to speak and act with one voice, Zauma implied.
