Terrorists Kill 3, Abduct 46 Others In Katsina Villages

Some villages in Katsina, Northwest Nigeria, experienced a series of terrorist attacks today.

Terrorists on Monday attacked villages in Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria and killed three persons.

Residents told BBC Hausa that the gunmen who invaded the villages Monday night abducted 46 others, mostly women and children.

One of the residents said the terrorists broke shops, stole money and properties, and went away with hundreds of domestic animals.

He added that the terrorists operated unchallenged by security forces despite attacking distant villages for hours.

Sabuwa is one of the local governments becoming a haven of terrorist activities in Katsina State.

The local government is a neighbour to Birnin Gwari of Kaduna State that is facing countless terror attacks.

Hundreds of residents have been forced out of the Sabuwa villages to different settlements and communities.

Meanwhile, kidnappers have reportedly abducted the mother-in-law of a business mogul in Katsina State, Dahiru Mangal.

The kidnappers stormed Hajiya Rabi’s house in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State and abducted her at about 1:00 a.m. Tuesday.

The husband of Hajiya Rabi, Muntari Masanawa, confirmed the incident and added that the kidnappers took her on a motorbike.

He added that the kidnappers asked his second wife to bring her money out for them, and she said she didn’t have a dime.

The kidnappers have not reached out to Hajiya Rabi’s family for ransom at the time of filing this report.
