Terrorists Attack Roggo Community In Kano, Abduct Mother And Child

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers numbering about 50 have attacked the Falgore community in Roggo Local Government Area of Kano State, Northwest Nigeria killing a member of the vigilante group and abducted a wife and a child of a prominent businessman,  Yusuf Kwankiro.

Confirming the attack on Monday morning, Ahmad Adamu, the Commander of the Vigilante Group at the local government level, said the terrorists invaded the village which shares border with Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State at about 1am shooting sporadically.

Adamu said during the attack,  the security operatives comprising members of the vigilante group confronted the attackers and in the process, the driver of the vehicle who was a member of the vigilante group was shot dead and their vehicle was set ablaze by the terrorists.

He also said the body of the late vigilante member has been buried in the morning according to Islamic rites.


When contacted, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Kano State Police Command Public Relations Officer, was not immediately available for comments. Several calls to his mobile phone were not answered.
