Terrorism: 6 People Including A Pregnant Woman Drown In Katsina

No fewer than seven people were reported to have lost their lives in another round of attack at Kasai and Nahuta villages in Batsari Local Government of Katsina State.

HumAngle gathered from Batsari that six people drowned, they include a pregnant woman while fleeing from the attack.

Eyewitnesses said the terrorist also killed one person in the process while two people were still missing as the terrorists carted away their belongings.

It was gathered that the villagers fled into the bush for the fear of being attacked while the violent band were shooting sporadically at every available object in sight.

Mustapha Ruma, who survived the latest attack said the terrorists stormed the two communities on motorcycles with dangerous weapons when the villagers were about observing prayers.

He narrated how the attackers operated freely for several hours at the two villages without any intervention from the security agents despite notifying them of the attacks.

He said ” Six people were found dead in the river on Saturday morning when they were running away to the bush. There was heavy rain on that day and one of them was a pregnant woman. My father told the Sarkin Ruwa who asked people to search the Dam before their bodies were removed.”

He disclosed that on several occasions the soldiers who were deployed to the area would not show up when they were being called upon in time of distress.

Ruma while speaking on Saturday night disclosed that another village Salihawar Dan Alhaji in Batsari was under attack.

He said the village was about 6 kilometres away from Batsari as can hear gunshots from the area.
