Shooters Kill Undergraduate In Northcentral Nigeria

An undergraduate student of Benue State University, Northcentral Nigeria has been killed in her residence by yet-to-be-identified shooters.

The police in Benue state, Northcentral Nigeria have confirmed the murder of a 400 level student of Anatomy at the Benue State University student by shooters.

HumAngle gathered suspected cultists killed the deceased identified as Jessica Agee, at Gadyo Villa’s residence in Makurdi, the state’s capital on Monday night.

Witnesses said a clash of rival cult groups over the seizure of examination papers had culminated in shootings around the school environment.

However, the police were yet to identify the motive behind the Agee’s killing in her home.

The state police command spokesperson, Catherine Anene, while confirming the killing on Tuesday, said a murder inquiry had begun.

“The incident is confirmed, the corpse has been deposited at a morgue while an investigation is in progress,” Anene said.

She said the remains of the student had been deposited at a mortuary.

Tse Vanger,  the university’s head of information,  told HumAngle that he was not aware of the student’s death.

“I’m yet to hear from the Dean of students about the matter,” he said.
