Police Trust Fund Boss Promises Improvement In Welfare Of Policemen
The Chairman Board of Trustees of Nigeria Police Trust Fund, retired Inspector- General of Police Suleiman Abba, has promised to work towards the improvement of the welfare of personnel of Nigeria Police Force for effective service delivery.
Abba made the pledge on Sunday evening when he visited Bompai Police Barrack, Kano State, and assessed the state of facilities at the barrack many of which are in dilapidated conditions.
After an inspection tour of facilities, Abba appealed to members of the public, particularly those who had the capacity, to make donations towards the rehabilitation of dilapidated infrastructure at the barrack.
He said such assistance would complement the efforts of the government and corporate entities in rehabilitating the structures which needed urgent attention.
“I’m disturbed with the condition of the barrack where some buildings have never been renovated since their construction in the 70s,” he said.
Abba said the fund would embark on training programmes to equip police personnel for modern policing duties to make them more efficient in their duties.
