Police Arrest Officials Of Deeper Life High School Over Alleged Molestation Of 11-Year-Old Boy
Some officials of the Deeper Life High School, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Southsouth Nigeria have been detained by the police in the state over the alleged molestation of Don Davis, a JSS1 student of the school.
They are currently being prepared to be arraigned before a competent court of law, HumAngle learnt.
They were said to have been detained after attending a meeting at the police headquarters, Uyo, called by Andrew Amiengheme, the state Commissioner of Police.
However, Deborah Okezie, mother of Davis, in a live facebook session released earlier Wednesday, revealed a masked doctor from Deeper Life High school who sneaked into the hospital Davis was admitted for treatment to take the victim’s blood sample has been arrested by the police.
“I want to show you all the hospital of the doctor who sneaked and masked up to take my son’s blood sample,” she said in the video.
He is in detention right now, but there is a need for his hospital to be seen. A man of seventy-something years old went to sneak in, masked up to come and destroy an eleven years old. Why? Because a church is involved.”
Odiko MacDon, the police spokesperson in the state, also confirmed the arrest of the school officials.
He said the police were preparing to arraign those found culpable.
“This morning, we are trying to tidy up (investigation), we are dotting our i’s and crossing our t’s,” Mr MacDon said. “If we are not through this morning, they will be arraigned tomorrow.”
HumAngle had earlier reported how the 11-year-old was sexually abused, starved and physically assaulted by some senior students of the school after he was moved by the school principal to a hostel filled by senior students because of bedwetting.
“They will remove his boxer and push their legs and hands into his anus,” Deborah Okezie, Davis’ mother had alleged in a viral video.
“Look at a child I sent to school, he came back with a broken anus.”
“People who have children in boarding school don’t know what these children go through. Boarding schools of these days are not like the boarding school of those days.”
Meanwhile, the school management had suspended the principal of the Uyo campus as part of its investigation into the matter while also handing over officials fingered in the allegations to a panel set up the state government.
The police also launched a separate investigation into the allegations.
