Nigerian Military Attempting To Push Back ISWAP Attack In Geidam

Insurgents are currently conducting an attack on Geidam town in Yobe State, Northeast Nigeria.

A group of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters Friday evening launched a daring attack on Geidam, Yobe State, Northeast Nigeria.

Geidam, a local government area in the north of Yobe is located near the border with Borno State and Niger Republic. 

Troops of 159 Battalion are deployed in Sector 2 of Operation Lafiya Dole in Geidam.

HumAngle understands that military combat aircraft have been deployed to support efforts to push back insurgents in multiple gun trucks. 


Although the situation is still unfolding, previous attacks in Geidam have involved the destruction of facilities and looting of supplies.
