Maiduguri Update: Security Forces Kill Multiple Boko Haram Terrorists, Capture Equipment
Nigerian military and police on Tuesday overpowered terrorists who had made an incursion into Maiduguri, Borno State capital.
A joint team of Nigerian military and police, Tuesday, May 11, killed multiple Boko Haram terrorists and captured their equipment during an infiltration of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State in Northeast Nigeria.
This paper gathered that at least one gun truck with a heavy machine gun and multiple motorcycles were recovered alongside terrorists’ corpses.
HumAngle had earlier reported deployment of artillery and reinforcement after the incursion was launched by the insurgents targeting the garrison town of Maiduguri.
As Muslims were preparing for the break of fast on the 29th day of Ramadan, residents said they could hear gunfire and explosions from artillery shelling, targeting the attackers.
A combined police and military reinforcement convoy was also seen heading towards the Jiddari Polo axis of the city.
HumAngle learnt that there is concern that the security incident and subsequent retreat could pave way for suicide bombers to infiltrate the city.
