Members of a terror group on Friday evening, launched attacks in the villages of Faskari local government area.
They invaded the LGA around 6:30 pm, starting with Yankara.
This was the second attack in one week, hours after residents of Kastina held two protests against the incessant attacks.
During the attack, the terrorists kidnapped 11 women and killed seven people – three in Yankara and four people in Unguwar Bakwai and Unguwar Kafa villages.
On Tuesday, HumAngle reported that members of Kadisau Community in the same Faskari local government area lost over 40 relatives in a brutal attack by the terrorists.
A reliable source from Unguwar Kafa told HumAngle that the group started their attacks in the outskirts of the local government area, asking community members to hand over their cattle and other livestock or face their deadly scene.
The source lamented that “Some of us were already aware of their plans before the attack. We transferred our cattle to Yankara and township of Faskari.
“They found out that we took away our cattle and livestock to the community of Yankara.
“They started attacking Unguwar Boka then ran down to Gwanki and Unguwar Giya, Unguwar Dan Boka,” he said.
Sani, who witnessed their arrival, said, “it was around 7pm they arrived Yankara in hundreds. Some were disguised as women.
“Immediately they stopped, they started shooting everyone. They killed my close friend ( Dan Tumba).
“They are currently in our area; they started shooting people. In few minutes, we heard that they entered Yankara township.
“They went to the junction and kidnapped four women but we do not know the exact number of people they killed for now.
“We could not sleep at all; they disbursed themselves to different parts of the local government, shooting from everywhere.
“I think their plan was take over our communities,” Sani said.
HumAngle also met a middle aged woman, who was unconscious because of multiple injuries and a fractured leg.
The person who brought her in told HumAngle that “the group attacked their community, killed her husband, three children and raped her.
“She managed to escape with a broken leg. As you see, they are currently killing people in my village ( Unguwar Wanki). I managed to escape with this bike.
“They are many in numbers killing people mercilessly,” he lamented.
Multiple sources have informed HumAngle that the group divided itself and left some members to remain in the town while others were disbursed to the neighboring villages, terrorizing people in the name of searching cattle and other livestock.
As at the time of this report, the group is at large in the various parts of the local government area, attacking the local civilians.
Ibrahim, a school Headmaster, said, “the military chopper is going round without making any attempt to stop them. I don’t know what they are doing at all.
“We are leaving this village now. In fact, no body is remaining in my area. They all ran away to unknown places.
“Some are even in the bush hiding,” he added.
Abdullahi, legal Practitioner who witnessed the incidence in Yankara said, “Let me start by commending the gallantry and resilience displayed by the military, police and members of the vigilante group in repelling the bandits attacks on Yankara and township of Faskari.
“However, I want use this opportunity to call the attention of the government to deploy more seriousness in tackling the bandit conflict in the area, otherwise the wanton killings of innocent and destruction of properties by the bandits will continue unabated.
“Our trained armed forces need well equipped arms and should not remain at the defensive side always. They should enter the bush that link Faskari and other other places in Zamfara and Dandume to deal with them.”
Residents told HumAngle that upon hearing the gunshot of the military, the terror group rode their motorcycles and headed to Faskari main town where they found their exits into the bush.
Meanwhile, residents of the attacked villages, especially women and children, were seen trooping out of the villages and taking refuge in nearby towns.
