The Gabon based non-governmental organization (NGO) Brainforest and its partners will, on May 6 and 7, 2021, organise an international colloquium on biodiversity.
The colloquium which will take place in the country’s capital Libreville will have the theme “Order and Disorder of Biodiversity in the International Society”.
To this end, Brainforest, LexFEIM of the Havre University, the Ethic and Procedure of Artois University, the Governance and Insular Development Laboratory of University of French Polynesia and the Circle of International Relations Studies, have launched an appeal for communication within the context of the organization of the said colloquium.
The meeting would serve as a transversal scientific forum for reflection and strategic action aimed at confronting the concept of biodiversity in practice and in particular on the forestry, oceans, soils and subsoils challenges.
It also envisages to realize a legal balance sheet, ecological/scientific management as well as the exploitation of our territories and their biological resources.
The eventual aim is to establish pluri-disciplinary interaction between African, European and Pacific researchers.
The texts that would eventually emanate from the colloquium will treat cultural rights, traditional know-how and the protection of indigenous peoples, biodiversity, protection of the forests, seas and oceans, the exploitation of natural resources and environmental impact on forests, lands and seas, the management of environmental risks and armed conflicts, agriculture, food security and management of ecosystems, international conventions and biodiversity.
Urbanisation, land rights and environmental pressure and their theory and practice would also be treated.
Persons interested in taking part in the colloquium have been advised to send their proposals before January 30, 2021.
