#EndSARS: Hackers Attack NBC Twitter Account, Vow to Take Govt. Websites Down

Hackers have attacked the official Twitter account of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) on Friday, October 16, 2020.

NBC is one of the parastatals of the Federal Government of Nigerian regulating broadcast media in the country.

“We #Anonymous have taken over all the NG Official Twitter’s Account to support #ENDPOLICEBRUTALITY.

WE’RE TOGETHER WITH NIGERIANS.

EXPECT UNEXPECTED,” the confiscated handle tweeted.

The hackers had vowed to attack more government websites and expose the government secret files.

“Good morning, great Nigerians. TGIF and it’s also a good day to #ENDSARS and #EndSWAT

Which government website(s) would you want us to play with?

Drop your suggestions under this tweet,” another tweet requested.

The NBC Twitter handle had over 12,000 followers before it was hacked. The followers have continued to grow after the handle was attacked.

Some hackers who attributed themselves to Anonymous, a hacktivist organisation, had exposed some information of Nigerian Police Force Officers on Thursday, October 15, before Twitter took down their handles.

Anonymous is yet to officially claim the attack on it’s website or social media account.
