#ENDSARS Campaigner, Eromosele Perfects Bail Conditions

Peter Eromosele, detained ENDSARS campaigner has perfected his bail conditions and waits for the court’s release warrant for him to walk out from the police custody, HumAngle can report.

According to Modupe Odele, a close associate of the activist, his is expected to be released today (Thursday) following the perfection of his bail conditions.

“Just left the station where Eromz is being held and there are two other lawyers still there. Our main goal for tonight is to make sure he isn’t moved anywhere else. The conditions for his bail have been fulfilled so barring no-nonsense, he should be released tomorrow,” Odele wrote on Twitter.

Adetola ‘Tola Onayemi, another associate of him who has been closely involved in the case, attested that the bail conditions have been perfected.

“UPDATE on Eroms: Bail conditions have been met. The only thing left is for the Court to approve & issue a release warrant. This will be done early tomorrow morning,” Onayemi said.

The police on Tuesday sought to move him from their custody to another facility for a purported COVID-19 test, HumAngle learned.

But Eromosele declined to be moved except in the presence of his lawyers. Both Odele and Onayemi also said that the detained ENDSARS campaigner would not undergo any test nor move to any other station.

“Our lawyers are at the station to emphasize that no medical procedures/tests should be carried out on Eromosele & he should not be moved,” Onayemi said on his Twitter handle.

“Eromz should not be taken for any Covid test without lawyers present. Anyway, our people are already there where he is being detained and waiting,” Odele tweeted.

HumAngle reports that Eromosele who was picked up at his Ikeja home, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria on November 7, was granted bail by a Yaba Magistrate Court at the sum of N1 million with two sureties, one of which must own property and both must be taxpayers.

On Monday when he was arraigned at the Magistrate Court following his transfer from Abuja, Nigeria’s capital where he was detained since his arrest, the police asked for an order for him to be remanded for 30 more days pending their investigation.
