Following an earlier promise from the Chinese, Gabon has received 300,000 COVID-19 vaccines while preparing to receive even more.

Gabon has received another 300,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine donated by the Chinese government.

According to Hu Changchun, the Chinese Ambassador to Gabon, 200,000 doses of the vaccines were a gift from the Chinese government to the Gabonese government while 100,000 were a gift from the Chinese army to the Gabonese military.

The vaccines arrived in the Gabonese capital Libreville on Sunday, May 9, by a chartered flight of the Portuguese airline, EuroAtlantic Airways.
