Terrorists Abduct Over 300 Schoolgirls In Zamfara

About 300 schoolgirls in Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria, have been reportedly abducted Friday morning by an unknown terrorist group from their school.

According to Daily Trust, the girls were taken from Government Girls Secondary School Jangebe in Talata-Mafara Local Government Area of the state at about 1 am.

The newspaper quoted a parent as confirming having two daughters among the girls abducted.

The Punch quoted a school staff who begged for anonymity as saying that the terrorists arrived in the school around 1 am with Hilux vehicles and motorcycles where they forcefully evacuated the students.

He narrated that some bandits were in uniforms and pretended to be security personnel, then later broke into the students’ hostels and abducted more than 300 students.

Police in the state are yet to issue any official statement.
