6 Die As Plane Carrying Medical Supplies Crashes In Somalia

At least six people have died after a small cargo plane carrying medical supplies ‘crashed’ near Bardale airport, Southwest region of Somalia

The incident took place around 3:45pm local time on Monday, Hassan Hussein, the regional transportation minister confirmed.

He added that the cause of the plane crash remains unknown and is being investigated.

According to reports, the plane was chartered by a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) and was transporting medical supplies and mosquito nets to Bardale.

Meanwhile, Somalia’s Health Ministry, on Monday, reported 34 new cases and three deaths from COVID-19 with 61 recoveries. The total cases toll 756 and deaths hit 35.
