3R Rebels Invade Makounzi Wali Village In Central African Republic

The rebels have sent some villagers running from their homes with some sustaining injuries.

Rebels of the Return, Reclamation, Rehabilitation (3R) movement who are affiliated to the Coalition of Patriots for Change (CPC) in the Central African Republic, Tuesday morning around 4 a.m. invaded Makounzi Wali village,  20 kilometres from Bocaranga on the Bouar highway in Ouham-Pende district.

According to villagers who escaped from the attack into Bocaranga last night, the 3R rebels entered their village around 9 p.m. Monday night.

“Immediately they entered our village, they started firing in the air for several minutes, intimidating the population, some of whom have since fled into the bushes. A village youth was hit by a bullet on the leg,” a villager who did not give his name told HumAngle by phone this morning.

Meanwhile, in a related development, 3R rebels also killed a young man on Monday in Ndim and his body has been transported to Bocaranga.

The 3R rebels last week encircled the villages of Bozoum and Ndim before attacking the positions of the Central African Republic national army in Ndim, killing one FACA soldier and sacking the gendarmerie brigade in Bozoum wounding one person.
