3 Kano State Law Enforcement Officials In Police Custody

The Kano State Police Command has arrested 3 Kano Roads And Traffic Agency (KAROTA) personnel over a brutal attack of a young adult, Aminu Abdullahi.

The Aminu was assaulted by the KAROTA officials due to misunderstanding which led to the young having his leg fractured.

Eventually, a crowd of youths began to attack the officials before were rescued while the victim is currently receiving treatment at the Murtala Muhammed General Hospital Kano.l

Police Public Relations Officer, Kano State Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the incident in an interview with journalists on Monday in Kano.


He disclosed that the information reached him lately on June 19 in the evening after the occurrence of the incident, he explained that the event happened at the Ibrahim Taiwo Road in the metropolis.

The police spokesman lamented that the Commissioner of police, Habu Ahmad has forwarded the case to the State Criminal Intelligence Department (SCID) for further investigation.

Residents in Kano are concerned over the lack of proper professional training of the KAROTA officials, which frequently leads to tension between the state officials and commuters in the city of Kano.

There is a need for the head of KAROTA, Dr Baffa Dan’agundi Ahmad to train and retrain his men on the best civil relations practices, many residents in Kano said.

The PPRO however made it clear that the Police is a friend to other security agencies, adding that there’s is a strong relationship among any other security agencies in Kano, he assured that justice and peace will be served to prevent further illegal actions.
